PGY1 Pharmacy Portland, Oregon
Caring for our communities for more than 75 years, Kaiser Permanente Northwest serves over 625,000 members in the Portland metro area, from Eugene, Oregon to Longview, Washington. Approximately 1020 pharmacy employees provide services in 24 pharmacy locations and 2 hospitals.
Purpose: PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
It is a 52-week, multi-site program in the Portland-metro area. The Kaiser Permanente Northwest PGY1 Residency has an ambulatory care focus and cultivates the development of leadership and clinical skills to allow residents to provide evidence-based and patient-focused care, setting them up for a career that serves to advance pharmacy practice.
Pharmacy Services
KPNW pharmacists work collaboratively with healthcare practitioners across the care continuum including inpatient, outpatient, transitions of care, home infusion, oncology, ambulatory care, academia, and administrative settings. With outpatient pharmacy services in nearly all of our medical offices, KPNW promotes pharmacy as an integral part of the healthcare team.
